Workers who need to exercise judgement to sling loads or who direct crane movement from outside the crane operator’s full view (such as with whistle signals or radio)
Dogging consists of two main aspects:
Simply put, someone who engages in dogging is called a Dogger.
Course Description
This course is designed to impart students with the skills and knowledge necessary to carry out rigging tasks related to the movement of plant and equipment, steel erections, hoists (including mast climbing hoists), placement of pre-cast concrete, safety nets and static lines, perimeter safety screens and shutters. Additionally, it covers the handling of cantilever crane loading platforms for the purpose of obtaining a license.
Course Outcomes
To qualify for an HRW Licence, the following prerequisites must be met:
1. Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Legislation, encompassing Acts, Regulations, and the Duty of Care.
2. Application of Australian Standards and National Standards.
3. Proficiency in planning for Intermediate Rigging work.
4. Competence in Risk Management.
5. Effective communication with Crane Operators.
6. Strategic planning for Duel Lifts.
7. Expertise in the erection of Tower Cranes.
8. Capability to rig and de-rig Lattice Boom Cranes.
9. Familiarity with Demolition Work procedures.
